About Jessica

Oh hey, glad you stopped by. Jessica Morrison here, a PhD student specializing in, well, this guy said it better: hustling hard to make it on my own terms.

What's that mean? It means I'm doing everything I can to turn what will be five years of graduate school into an experience that will allow me to write about science for a living. If I were feeling poetic, I'd say I want to be the conduit through which scientists share their stories.

If you're interested in my academic work, see my CV over here. For everything else, you've come to the right place.

About ihearttheroad.com

What is ihearttheroad? It started as my AIM username circa 2004. I created it because there was this guy that I liked who used AIM, and I wanted to chat with him when I wasn't on campus, and it was starting to be trendy to say I heart things, and I liked to road-trip. I started ihearttheroad.com in 2009 as a travel blog for my pre-wedding road-trip around the Southeast coast. Wedding? Yeah, I married AIM guy.

Following a re-design by AIM guy in 2012, ihearttheroad.com became a comprehensive blog where I would endeavor to curate my interests in science, travel, music, and food on the web. Thanks for stopping by.
